  The portuguese channel TVI in Portugal, broadcast this documentary in October 2015 about Jehovah's Witnesses. Child abuse, shunning, blood transfusions and many other topics were mentioned in this report.
  
  The documentary makers asked for a response from the leadership of Jehovah’s Witnesses to the damaging statements made by survivors of child abuse and domestic violence.
  
  The response was silence except for an attempt to make the documentary die by trying to blacken the journalist Ana Leal’s credibility.

  i took another look around the new website ( https://www.watchtowerbrooklynrealestate.com/ ).

  first they have two properties listed here 124 columbia and 85 jay street.

  these have to be worth a lot of money.

  Very few active JWs read the Watchtower and Awake! magazines from cover to cover, but they still felt compelled to donate for the piles building in their closets. Now the mags are smaller and fewer. Less donations. Just as few JWs read the mags and other publications, few actually go to the website for anything either. In fact, ExJWs know more about what is going on at JWOrg many times over compared to active JWs. Since there is no physical product, JWs will donate even less the more everything is transferred over to digital.

  There are clues in documentation that they are adept at burning through piles of money. The only thing that will rescue them financially is if they impose a 10% tithe. They've tried to with the kingdom hall funds money grab and stipulated monthly donation. But congregation members feel no binding requirement to drop money in the box. This will be an interesting conversation a decade from now.

  The Elders are Coming Help!

  so the elders keep bugging me and pestering me about having a meeting with them to "introduce me to my new congregation" for some reason (do any ex elders know what that even means??).

  i keep postponing and making excuses and they are getting more and more aggressive.

  i finally agreed for them to come over today, but really don't want to..should i hide from them again?

  Block and screen phonecalls. Never pick up, never return messages. Check out your windows before leaving the house. Install a webcam pointing out the window and check the driveway before you come home.(use ICam app) They will eventually give up.

  Impact of the Royal Commission of Inquiry on JW policies and procedures

  the royal commission is not yet over.

  the summary of findings on jws is not the end of the story.

  the legal process is unfolding and the only open question is the extent to which jw organization in australia will be legally mandated to change its policies and procedures on child sexual abuse.. (on the question of shunning those who leave, the commission is well intended but has strayed beyond its legal brief.

  But the RC isn't a toothless tiger. And WT is scrambling with damage control submission, like the first from Jackson clarifying his meanderings and now this disconnected response submission.

  Laws will be made based on the RCs final recommendation. Public opinion will enforce it.
